The Power of Turmeric

Turmeric, also known as TOO-MER-RIC, is a powerful and healing plant that is part of the Ginger family. Found in Southeast Asia, this glorious plant has been used in food and medicine for thousands of years.

The secret?

Curcumin. This active ingredient holds powerful medicinal properties that treat various illnesses. Throughout the years studies have proven that this magnificent plant has improved a broad spectrum of health conditions, out-performing heavy prescription drugs dedicated to improving the same ailments. When combined with Black Pepper, the benefits from Turmeric and Curcumin are quickened! The Black Pepper is known to activate Enzymes, aiding in the digestion of the plant.

Studies have shown that consistent use of Turmeric has the ability to:

  • Improve Brain Function
  • Improves Heart Function
  • Prevents Alzheimers Disease
  • Anti-Inflammatory Properties
  • High Levels of Antioxidants
  • Lowers Risk of Brain Disease

How To Use Turmeric

There are many different ways to consume this magical supplement into your diet. My favorite way is to make my own Turmeric Capsules and take 1-2 daily. (Size of capsule determines how often the capsules are taken.) I purchase the Turmeric in the Bulk section at Sprouts or Whole Foods and Size 0 Vegetarian Gelatin capsules from the Vitamin/Supplement Department. Mix a small ground black pepper into the turmeric powder, stir well, and fill the capsules. A simple way to get these insane benefits while saving some dollars!

You can also create a flavorful Tonic using these two recipes:
